Neurology and Neuroscience

Dr. Asif Taqi received his medical degree from Dow Medical College in Karachi. He completed his Neurology residency at the University of Tennessee and a fellowship in Critical care, Vascular Neurology and Endovascular Interventional Neuroradiology at Medical College of Wisconsin. He is triple board certified in Neurology, Vascular neurology and Critical Care Neurology. He currently leads the comprehensive stroke and neuroendovascular programs at Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center, West Hills Hospital and Medical Center, and Northridge Hospital. Dr. Taqi is a senior member of Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery (SNIS), Society of Vascular and Intervention Neurology (SVIN) and a fellow of American Heart Association (FAHA).

Amer Alghaben is currently the Managing Director of GxP Compliance and Training Partners (GCTP), which he founded, helping pharmaceutical companies & academic institutions worldwide to achieve compliance with GCP, GVP, GCLP, GDP and GLP. Amer, a Clinical pharmacologist by education, has over 28 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He enjoys imparting his experiences, as an invited speaker at over 120 international congresses and as writer, published 2 reference books, The Pharmaceutical Medicine Dictionary and The Dictionary of Pharmacovigilance and other publications. Earlier in his career, he was Assistant Editor for 11 medical journals and was the 1st invited Course Director for The Pharmacovigilance Auditing Course at the RQA.

Kaja is an experienced neurobiologist with a long-standing research track record in academia and the biotech and pharmaceutical industry. Kaja currently serves as Associate Director of Preclinical Research at the Vision Research Center at the University of Missouri - Kansas City, School of Medicine. He is the Director of Microscopy of the imaging core facility at the Vision Research Center and also holds an appointment to Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology. His NIH-funded research program focuses on human neurological and neurodegenerative diseases, visual disorders and inflammation. 

Giovanni Antioco Putzu is working as professor in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology in Casa di Cura Sant’Elena, Italy. He has published more than 15 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as an editorial board member of repute

Kuldip Sidhu, PhD, BSC (Medical) is a stem cell expert at the Faculty of Medicine, University of New South Wales, Australia. His post doc training is from St Louis MO USA (1979-80) in assisted reproductive technology and he also worked with Prof James Thompson, Wisconsin USA (2000) who produced the first human embryonic stem cells in 1998. His research focus is on neural stem cells derived from both the embryonic and non-embryonic sources for developing future cell therapies for various neurodegenerative diseases, like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other neuronal diseases.
